With over two decades of hands-on real estate experience, Karen is the heart of The Downs Team’s rental and leasing division. Her journey began in 2004 at the front desk of Dyson & Dyson, one of the desert’s most prestigious real estate boutiques. There, she had a front-row seat to some of the industry’s top-producing agents and quickly realized she wanted to become one herself.

In 2005, Karen earned her real estate license and closed her very first sale for $715,000 in Rancho Mirage—an exciting and promising start. But when the market crashed in 2007, she quickly adapted, pivoting into leasing at a time when many homeowners were forced to rent after losing their properties. Through resilience and relationship-building, Karen not only survived the downturn—she thrived.

Leasing became more than a means of staying in the business; it became her specialty. She developed deep trust with homeowners and tenants alike, eventually growing a powerful referral network that led to many property sales over the years.

Today, Karen brings unmatched expertise to The Downs Team’s rental operations, managing everything from tenant placement to owner relations with care, professionalism, and a sharp understanding of the desert’s ever-changing market.
